Exploration Manager

Duane Wrede is the Exploration Manager of Nevada Operations for Great Basin Gold. He has more than 35 years experience both in exploration and mining. Mr. Wrede has worked for West Coast Oil and Gas, at the Gooseberry Mine in an underground vein setting, Vanderbilt Gold, and at the Morning Star Mine in both underground and surface production. He has also worked for Norandex, B&B Mining, Crown Resources, Pittston Nevada Gold, and Western Energy Development in exploration.

In his capacity as Senior Geologist at the Hollister Mine prior to becoming Exploration Manager, Mr. Wrede developed specific underground experience of high-grade narrow vein settings, which he now applies to guide future exploration around the Hollister Mine area. He is responsible for the management, supervision and direction of Great Basin Gold’s Nevada exploration activities, with particular regard to resource expansion of the Company’s assets.
