Technical Services Manager

Jimmy Symonds is the Technical Services Manager at Burnstone Mine. He began his career as a student with Grinaker in 1987 and went on to work for Nkomati Mine, Eastern Goldfield and the Simmer and Jack Mines. His past mining positions have included working as a Site Engineer, Drillmaster, Production Superintendent, Mining Leader, Project Manager and Mine Manager. He also has experience in shaft sinking, development and stoping in open cast and underground operations.

Mr. Symonds is a qualified Civil Engineer and has Surface and Underground Blasting Certificates as well as a Mine Overseer’s and a Mine Manager’s certificates.
