Mining Manager

Jeffrey Mokgatlha joined Great Basin Gold’ s Burnstone team as the Mining Manager in September 2011. He has more than 11 years experience in the mining industry and began his mining career at De Beers as a bursar. After completing his National Higher Diploma, Jeffrey began working at De Beers’ Kimberley Mines where he occupied various positions. He then joined the Department of Minerals and Energy (DME) before it was known as Department of Minerals Resources (DMR) where he succeeded to the position of Principal Inspector of Mines. Jeffrey then joined DRDGold Blyvooruitzicht Gold Mine heading their project division. He then rejoined De Beers’ at their Finsch Mine as an Implementation Section Manager, where he was promoted to Production Section Manager and then Mining Manager.

Jeffrey holds a B-Tech Mining Engineering from University of Johannesburg and MDP from UNISA. He also holds a Mine Overseer’s and Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency and is a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
