Metallurgical Plant Manager

Jeff Mkhabela is the Metallurgical Plant Manager at Burnstone Mine. Mr. Mkhabela has more than 11 years experience in the mining industry, having worked in gold, copper, coal and mine water treatment plants. Previously, he has worked for Delmas Coal (Kuyasa Mining) as a Plant Superintendent/Manager, for Nigel Gold Mine (Bema Group) as Plant Metallurgist, for Palabora Mining Company (Rio Tinto Group) as Process Coordinator / Metallurgist, and for JCI Projects (Chemeffco) as Junior Process Engineer. He is passionate about ensuring that his team members are well trained as safety and productivity are his priorities.

Mr. Mkhabela holds B. Tech degree: Engineering Metallurgy and a National Diploma: Engineering Metallurgy from the Tshwane University of Technology and is currently completing a dissertation for his MBA. He is registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Candidate Engineering Technician, and is also a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
